ORGANIZING

Organizing is a top priority in our organization. In the past it has always been our goal to expand the union's market share, increase work opportunities, represent unrepresented workers, and give open shop contractors the opportunity to become signatory union contractors. In order for us to be successful in meeting these goals our staff works together with our organizing committee to make organizing a full time team effort. We constantly put together both comprehensive and strategic organizing campaigns to exercise our rights to organize. Some of the things that help us meet our goals include:

1.) Frequent visits to non-union job sites.
2.) Building friendly relationships with unrepresented workers.
3.) Scheduling meetings with open shop contractors.
4.) Holding frequent Construction Organizing Membership Education Training

(C.O.M.E.T.) classes to educate our membership on the importance of organizing.

With the recent boom in construction, and our organizing efforts, our membership and number of signatory contractors is on a steady incline. It is the four elements listed above that has helped us flourish to the union that we are today, and with continued support from our membership we will only continue to keep growing and expanding in the years to come.
