Dave Smith, Frank Kurko, Kevin Louth, Mark Corman, and Dennis
Rosler volunteered their time and efforts to Herbert W. Best
VFW Post 928 replacing a crumbling cement pad with a beautiful
stone patio as well as building a memorial to recognize fallen
Vets from the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars. Dave Smith spearheaded
the project and was also able to recruit volunteer help
from Buck Frank Excavating (Local 542), Dave Augustine Electrician
(Local 98), Mark Kelleher Labor (Local 332) Gordan Morris
Carpenter (Local 465), Aungst Ironworks (Local 401) and
Bob Bansept (32 BJ SEIU).
The great success of this project was not
only the result of these volunteers, but also due to the
generous donations of material donated by EP Henery Sales
rep Bill Albersin (Pavers) , Electrical Supplies donated
by Easle Supply and Cooper Supply, as well as donations
from
JJ Deluca Company, Giles J. Cannon and Anna's Steak Shop.
The finished projects were unveiled,
and monument dedicated at a clambake held by the VFW on
Saturday Sept 18, 2010.
